In 2009 the club was surviving with about 15 members and several of those were long time members who wouldn't give up on the club. Membership starting growing again and by the end of 2009 we had about 25 members. In 2010 memberhip shot up to 86 members. Trap shooting was off limits due to a conflict with a neighbor who shut down the traps. The club held a few private events that helped to sustain the club and its expenses. During the 2010 spring season we added a regular handgun shoot event that was open to members and invited guests of members. The event was a success and this added to the Turkey Shoots which begin in October and run thru April each year.
Beginning in 2011 membership was around 60 members and new shooting events are being added to the schedule including Rim-Fire rifle shoots, Military Rifle shoots, Multigun shoots and a Bowling pin shoot co sponsored with the FOP planned for the late spring.
Other events are planned for the 2011 year including with the assistances of the ODNR, a Youth day event, an Open House event where the public will have free access at specific times to the range. Hunter Education courses are on the schedule for this fall as they were last year. These are completion courses where you take the bulk of the course online and attend this course for the final completion of the class. CCW classes are offered at various times during the year, please contact us if you in interested in taking one of these classes and we will inform you of the next class.
Other member events scheduled include, cookouts, campouts and the Girl Scouts use of the facilities for an overnight bonfire and camp night. Kiser Lake Sportsman's club is supportive of local activities in the community and supports and assists the 4-H shooting club in Urbana.
